Lilith Local Talent Search Announced! 14 various sites around North America will have talent searches to find local artists to perform on the acoustic stage at their local Lilith Fair.

The most asked question around these parts, other than is [insert artist name here] playing [insert city name here], is who is Lilith? Taken straight out of the programme for this summer's tour, here's the scoop. The name of Lilith may be new to some of you, but the truth is her legend has been around for thousands of years. In the Talmud, Lilith is described as a winged demoness with a human appearance. She also appears in the Bible, the Dead Sea Scrolls and even the roots of black magic. Wherever she comes from, most legends agree on the basic story: God created Adam from dirt and clay. Bored, Adam requested a companion, so God created Lilith in much the same way - although legend has it that Lilith's dirt was dirtier than Adam's. When the time came for the two to tango, Adam insisted that Lilith do it his way. She refused, saying "why must I lie beneath you? We are both equal because we come from the same earth." Adam got mad, Lilith took off and, a few thousand years later, a festival was born.
